New generation of healthcare professionals
26 August 2016

We are opening our doors to a future generation of healthcare professionals with an open event about a new NHS career. Working in partnership with the University of East Anglia, the hospital is looking for students to join a physician associate degree course.

Physician associates are relatively new to the NHS. They work under the supervision of a doctor or surgeon and undertake a number of medical tasks such as obtaining medical histories, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries and giving preventive health advice.

The University of East Anglia (UEA) is running a MSc Associate Studies degree course for graduates with a 2:1 or above in biological sciences. The hospital open event will give interested students the chance to find out more about the course and the role in hospitals. So if you know anyone who fits the bill and would be interested in coming along, please encourage them to attend.

The open event is on Thursday, 15 September, from 4pm to 6pm in the Simulation Suite, Education Centre, The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. To register for the event, please email press.office@ipswichhospital.nhs.uk. For more on the UEA course, visit www.uea.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/taught-degree/detail/msc-physician-associate-studies.
