New charity chief's pledge to Ipswich Hospital patients
07 October 2016

Mandy JordanIpswich Hospital’s new fundraising boss has pledged to develop an exciting programme of new events so that the Trust can continue to expand its successful charity for the benefit of patients.

Mandy Jordan has joined the Ipswich Hospital Charity as head of fundraising and charity after playing a key role in developing the £4.7m Woolverstone Macmillan Centre in her previous job as area fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support.

She is now keen to bring real benefits to patients and their families using the wealth of fundraising, business and legal expertise she gained while working for Macmillan and formerly as a project manager and legal executive.

“Ipswich is my local hospital and many of my friends and family have been treated there, so I was delighted to be able to join the team at Heath Road,” said Mandy, who lives in Saxmundham. “I was involved in the Woolverstone Macmillan Centre project from the concept stage right up to the opening, so already know the hospital well and have seen first-hand the difference that fundraising can make to patients.

“I now want to build on the strong foundations which the charity has already put in place and develop a new and exciting calendar of fundraising events. We will also be working on another major appeal in the near future which we hope will capture people’s imaginations in the same way as the cancer centre.

“We want to give the whole community the chance to get involved and support their local hospital, whether they’re keen to get hot and sweaty with a cycle ride or marathon, or would prefer to bake a cake or hold a sponsored silence.

“Every penny we raise will be put straight back into buying extra items and equipment which will make a big difference to our patients by further improving the experience they have when receiving care at the hospital.”
