Neuroendocrine Tumour Patient Support Group
23 May 2018

Patients from the Ipswich and Colchester areas with neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) have been invited to a meeting which will explore ways of looking after their emotional wellbeing.

The Essex Neuroendocrine Tumour Patient Support Group will host the event on Thursday 14 June at the Colchester Officer’s Club, St John’s Green, Colchester, between 6pm and 9pm.

It will feature guest speaker Kym Wynter, who is a psychotherapist with the NET Patient Foundation and a counsellor, and will give a presentation called ‘Living with NETS – looking after your emotional wellbeing’. Dr Mary McStay, consultant gastroenterologist at Colchester General Hospital, will also give a short update on any local developments in NET care.

Those attending will be given the chance to ask questions and take part in a mindfulness taster session.

Anyone with NETs or their families, as well as doctors and nurses who are interested in managing patients with neuroendocrine tumours, are welcome to attend. Please book your place by Monday 11 June by emailing jennifer.lancaster-jones@colchesterhospital.nhs.uk or calling 01206 745210.
