David White re-appointed as chair of Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust

David White, Chair of The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust has been appointed for a further term of office until 31 October 2019.
He began his career as a social worker in London before becoming a director of social services and moving to Suffolk to be Chief Executive of Suffolk Health Authority in 1994. He was Chief Executive of Norfolk County Council until April 2013.
David has extensive leadership experience as both a chief executive and non–executive director including chair of a major commercial company, charity and university governance.
He said: “I feel privileged in being re-appointed to this role at such an important time for the Trust as we plan to merge with Colchester Hospitals University Foundation NHS Trust.
“Ipswich Hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence and I am delighted to be part of the top team of directors serving on the Board,” David added.
Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by NHS Improvement are subject to "The standards for members of NHS boards and clinical commissioning group governing bodies in England" produced by the Professional Standards Authority. David has been appointed from 1 November 2017 until 31 October 2019 and is entitled to receive a remuneration of £35,000 per annum for this role.  He has declared no political activity in the last five years. 
David was appointed Chair of the Colchester Hospitals University Foundation NHS Trust in May 2016.
