Antenatal Clinic

The Antenatal Clinic is situated on the ground floor of the two-storey building adjacent to the Maternity tower block. If you are travelling by car, Car Park G is the most convenient place to park. The Antenatal Clinic is for women whose professional lead care is by the consultant. Ultrasound Diagnostic Services, where you have your scans, is within the same department.

Victoria Rothwell is the Antenatal Clinic lead midwife, Elaine Goldie is the Antenatal and Newborn Screening lead midwife. She leads a small team of midwives and maternity care assistants. There are eight consultant obstetricians who have allocated days for their clinics. There are also some specialist clinics which include the following:

  • Diabetes Clinic
  • Weekly prenatal diagnosis/screening
  • Monthly anaesthetic clinic

If you are booked for consultant-led care, you will attend an appointment to meet your allocated consultant, who will work with you to plan the management of your pregnancy. Other appointments in clinic will then be arranged dependant on clinical need but care will be shared with your community midwife. Some appointments you attend may take longer this will depend upon what investigations are needed for you and your baby.

In the event that you should need to speak to someone in the clinic, please ring 01473 703102 or 01473 703104 and have your name and hospital number ready.
