Volunteers

Our hospital has around 400 volunteers across the site, helping in a variety of ways, from visiting lonely patients, to being members of our user groups.

Our volunteers provide support to both staff and patients and are invaluable to us.

To become a volunteer please contact Voluntary Services on voluntary.services@ipswichhospital.nhs.uk for further information.

“The hospital is one of the largest and busiest in the East of England. Every day, thousands of people come to us for treatment and care, or to visit friends and relatives. The first welcome they receive is often from volunteers.

We are fortunate to have so many people willing to give their time and to contribute to the well being of our patients. Our volunteers help to make this hospital a warm and friendly place.

They make a real difference in all areas across the Trust but are particularly important in clinical areas where they make a stay in hospital much more pleasant for both patients and visitors.

I should like to take this opportunity, not only to encourage new volunteers to join us but also to thank those who already volunteer. Their generous contribution of both time and effort is very much appreciated by staff as well as patients and visitors.”
