Volunteering at Ipswich Hospital

Our hospital has over 500 volunteers across the site, helping in a variety of ways, from visiting lonely patients, to being members of our user groups.

Our volunteers provide support to both staff and patients and are invaluable to us.

“We would be lost without the fantastic contribution volunteers make on the wards, in the clinics, behind the scenes in departments, and welcoming people to the hospital.

This year we have more than 540 volunteers who give their time and expertise to make life better for patients and staff.

Volunteers undertake a wide range of tasks in the hospital, anything from greeting an anxious patient when they first come in through the hospital and helping them find the right clinic, to maintaining a garden loved and enjoyed by the hospital community.”

Ann Tate, Trust Chair

More people than ever before would like to volunteer at our hospital, which is fantastic. If you’ve got in touch with us to register your interest we will come back to you as soon as possible. Please bear with us as we work our way through all the applications we have received.

Please contact Voluntary Services on volunteers@ipswichhospital.nhs.uk for further information.
