Volunteering at Ipswich Hospital

“We would be lost without the fantastic contribution volunteers make on the wards, in the clinics, behind the scenes in departments, and welcoming people to the hospital. Our volunteers give their time and expertise to make life better for patients and staff.”

Ann Tate, Trust Chair

Our volunteers provide support to both staff and patients and are invaluable to us. We are very fortunate that more people than ever before would like to volunteer at our hospital.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, we would welcome your application.

Our hospital volunteers need to:

  • be 16 years old or above;
  • have the right to work in the UK;
  • be happy to volunteer on a weekly basis and at an agreed time, for a minimum of six months;
  • be flexible about the volunteering placement; and
  • complete our volunteer application process. Click on the “Joining Us as a Volunteer” document at the bottom of this webpage to see the whole volunteer application process.

Please contact Voluntary Services on volunteers@ipswichhospital.nhs.uk or by calling 01473 704473 to find out more.

You can find out more about Hospital Radio Ipswich, one of the many volunteer opportunities available, via the Hospital Radio Ipswich website.
