User groups are made up of patients, their carers and families, representatives from voluntary and community groups and members of Ipswich Hospital staff who meet to discuss the patient experience and exchange ideas to develop and improve services. User groups meet for 1-2 hours once a month or once every other month. Most meetings are held at the hospital. User group members make a commitment to attend for a minimum of one year and have recently used or are using the hospital service linked to the group either as a patient or carer / family member of a patient. Alternatively, they may also be a representative of a voluntary or community organisation with expertise or an interest in the focus of the group.
