Diabetes User Group

The east Suffolk Diabetes User Group covers the hospital and services in the community across east Suffolk. It is a joint group with staff attending from both the hospital and Ipswich and East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). The lead for the group are a diabetes specialist nurse for the hospital and diabetes network manager for Ipswich and East Suffolk CCG.

User representation on the group includes both type 1 and 2 diabetics aged from 18 years. Carer representatives, especially parents of young diabetics, are welcome. The group is keen for a few more members with type 2 diabetes to join them and would be pleased to hear from a GP or practice nurse who has a special interest in diabetes.

The group has published a booklet called 'Living with Type 2 Diabetes', copies of which are available from the Diabetes Centre.

We welcome patient feedback and also enquiries to join the group. If you would like to join the group, or have something you feel they should discuss, please write to:
