Security
Ipswich Hospital is a safe place to be and with the help of our security staff and on-site police officers we work hard to maintain this standard.
You will be aware that access to the hospital needs to be fairly unrestricted for most of the day to allow patients, relatives and members of staff to go about their daily business. Because of this flexible approach there may, unfortunately, be occasions when people with criminal intent will try to use this situation and take advantage of our “open house”.
We advise you to bring the minimum amount of money with you and to leave jewellery at home, including rings and watches, whenever possible. Mobile phones are attractive to thieves therefore you need to consider if you really should bring yours with you if you are being admitted as an in-patient.
Although a bedside locker is provided it is not lockable and therefore not a suitable place to leave valuables and sums of money.
We hope that your stay with us will be a pleasant experience and like the vast majority of our patients you will not become a victim of crime.
You are advised that Ipswich Hospital cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to personal belongings.
