Information for Visitors and Carers
All kinds of people visit the Ipswich Hospital for all kinds of reasons. Many will be visiting friends or relatives during a stay in hospital or accompanying someone to an outpatient appointment. Others will be visiting the hospital to meet colleagues, attend training courses, or perhaps to look round the hospital.

Ward Visiting Times

Visitors are welcome every day, 3 pm – 8 pm.

There are protected or quiet times on most of our wards during mealtimes. This means that we may ask colleagues and visitors to leave the ward. We hope all visitors appreciate this and are sorry if it causes any inconvenience. You may wish to bear this in mind when planning to visit. Ward mealtimes are posted on the information board at the entrance to each ward.

On Bergholt Ward visiting for parents is not restricted so you may visit at any time. Visiting time for anyone other than parents is 6 pm – 7 pm.

Visitors are welcome on the Emergency Assessment Unit (Brantham Ward and Capel Ward) every day, 10am – 8pm.

On Framlingham Ward visting times are 3 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 8 pm.

Children under 5 years should not visit unless given approval by the ward matron or senior nurse in charge. There can be no more then two visitors at any one time, and visitors may be asked to leave if the patient needs to rest.
