Carers' Kitchen
Ipswich Hospital is committed to Caring for Carers

Suffolk Family Carers Logo

Ipswich Hospital was a runner-up in the Communicating Effectively with Patients and Families category at the Patient Experience Network National Awards 2012

The beach hut inspired Carers’ Kitchen is a comfortable place for carers to take a break or to wait while the people they care for are having scans or tests.

One of our volunteers in the Carers' KitchenThe hospital has worked with Suffolk Family Carers to provide the bright, welcoming space for carers to relax. There is free tea and coffee and the chance to socialise with others. There are also information leaflets for carers about support, issues and rights and the volunteers will provide a listening ear and information.

The Carers’ Kitchen is located by the bus stop next to Garrett Anderson Centre at the south end of the site, close to most of the wards.
