Are You a Family Carer?

What is a family carer?

Someone of any age who spends time looking after a relative, child, partner or friend who is frail, ill or who has a physical disability, learning disability or mental health problem, including dementia.

We are also including, for visiting purposes, the parents or significant adults of children, partners of new mums as well as those with informal caring responsibilities for someone.

As someone who is caring for someone else you deserve support and time out too – we have set up a number of initiatives to help you continue caring and take a break.

Family Carers’ passports and badges are available for those here on a regular basis supporting the person you care for. Ask a member of staff for details and your passport and badge.
