Profile:
Mr Al-Nammari specialises in surgery of the foot & ankle. His undergraduate medical training in Edinburgh was followed by a scholarship to the University of Oxford where he furthered his studies in musculoskeletal medicine and was awarded a distinction for his dissertation. His general surgical training was divided between Edinburgh and London. This was followed by his appointment to the renowned Royal London Orthopaedic Surgery Training Programme where he specialised in foot &  ankle surgery. He then received competitive awards from the European Foot & Ankle Society, The Royal College of Surgeons and finally the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society gold medal - these facilitated two further years of advanced Fellowship training in foot & ankle surgery at centres of excellence across the UK, Europe and the USA.

Mr Al-Nammari treats all adult musculoskeletal conditions affecting the Foot & Ankle. He has a particular interest in:
● severe hallux valgus (bunions);
● hallux rigidus;
● lesser toe deformity - hammer, mallet and claw toes;
● sports injuries including ankle sprains and instability;
● arthroscopic surgery;
● plantar fasciitis;
● Morton’s neuroma;

Mr Bhagat qualified from BJ Medical College, India in 1997 and obtained a Masters in Orthopaedics in 2000. Subsequently he has received further training in the UK.

He was appointed to the Ipswich Hospital Spinal Unit in September 2013. Prior to this he has been on spinal surgery fellowship training programmes in Cardiff, Cambridge, Norwich and Germany. He was awarded the Diploma of European Spine Society in 2012.

His practise involves all aspects of spinal surgery. He has had articles published in several international publications, has given presentations on various aspects of spinal surgery and has also been involved in organising charity spinal surgery mission trips to India.

Outside work, he enjoys tennis and swimming.

Mr Bowditch is an established consultant with a specialist interest in knee surgery, specifically ligament reconstruction, cartilage work, osteotomy and surgery in the young or athletic population, uni/total knee replacements and revision arthroplasty. He undertakes general foot/ankle work and specifically arthroscopic work in the sports ankle.

Mr Brammar qualified UCMSM in London in 1993, completed his SHO rotation in Bristol, his registrar rotation in East Anglia, and undertook a primary and revision hip fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia in 2004-2005. Mr Brammar was appointed as a consultant at Ipswich Hospital in 2005.

Mr Cumming was appointed to the Trauma and Orthopaedics Department at Ipswich Hospital in July 2011. His major interest and speciliality is in degenerative spinal surgery. Mr Cumming graduated from Glasgow University in 1999 and his basic surgical training was in the West of Scotland. His higher surgical training was in the East Anglian region, with the majority of this based in Ipswich. Prior to taking up his consultant post, Mr Cumming received further spinal training in Exeter and Budapest.

Mr Hudd is a full time Consultant Spinal Surgeon. He qualified from the University of St Andrews (BSc) in 1996, before completing his clinical training at the University of Manchester (MB, ChB) in 1998. During his junior surgical training he worked in Brisbane, Australia, and then returned to the UK where he completed his specialty training as an orthopaedic registrar on the South West Thames rotation (Sussex, Surrey and SW London).

He gained FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2011 and went on to complete two years of specialist spine surgery fellowship training. The first year was spent at Sheffield in the UK and the second was a joint neurosurgery/orthopaedic fellowship in Melbourne, Australia.
During his time at Sheffield he helped launch the British Spine Registry, which collects data to help ensure patient outcomes are optimised.

He has experience in all forms of orthopaedic spinal surgery and has published papers and been faculty and a delegate on training courses around the world.

Having played many sports during his life, he retains a keen interest in all sports, but particularly cricket and rugby, and likes to travel.

Mr Kaleel is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in spinal surgery. Mr Kaleel qualified from Coimbatore Medical College, India in 2000. He joined the East Anglian Trauma and Orthopaedic training programme in 2006. He trained in spinal surgery at Ipswich and Norwich during his higher surgical rotation and thereafter went on a spinal surgery fellowship at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in Exeter.

Mr Kaleel was appointed to Ipswich hospital in February 2013. His practice involves all aspects of spinal surgery and he provides a spinal on-call service as a part of a five member team.

Mr Lovell qualified from University College London Medical School in 1998. He undertook his basic surgical training at University College Hospital, St. Mary’s and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. He then joined the East Anglian Higher Surgical Training Programme in Trauma and Orthopaedics. During this training he specialised in spinal surgery and after gaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons he travelled to Australia for the prestigious year long AO Spinal fellowship in Brisbane.

Mr Lovell was appointed as a consultant in spinal surgery at Ipswich Hospital in 2010. His practice involves all aspects of spinal surgery including trauma, deformity, infection, malignancy and degenerative conditions such as back pain and sciatica. His particular sub-speciality interests are cervical surgery and adult deformity. He has extensive experience in disc replacement surgery.

Mr Lovell is actively involved with the education of trainee surgeons and other colleagues, lecturing widely and internationally on many aspects of spinal surgery.

Outside of work Mr Lovell is a keen musician and is married with two daughters.

Mr Martin's main area of interest is lower limb arthroplasty and arthroscopic knee surgery. He completed a fellowhip in lower limb arthroplasty at Wrightington Hospital for Joint Diseases in 2004 and offers contemporary techniques such as unicompartmental joint replacement and hip surgery for the young. Mr Martin also undertakes revision surgery and teaches on a number of national and international arthroplasty courses.

Mr Powell is a member of the five-man spinal team at Ipswich Hospital, providing a whole spine surgical service with 24-hour emergency care for serious and urgent spine tumours, neural compressions, infections and injuries. This by its very nature includes the cervical, thoracic and lumbar areas. His elective work covers the whole spine but with a particular interest in degenerative disc and lumbar spine surgery, tertiary referral opinion and revision surgery.

Mr Pryke qualified in 1993 from Guy's Hospital Medical School and has been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon since 2004. His special areas of clinical interest are primary and revision hip surgery, hip replacement in young adults, uncemented hip arthroplasty and arthroscopic knee surgery. Mr Pryke's non-clinical interests include postgraduate medical education. He is the chairman of the higher surgical training committee for Trauma and Orthopaedics for the East of England Deanery. He is also the Royal College of Surgeons regional speciality professional advisor in Orthopaedic Surgery for the East of England.

Mr Roberts has been a Consultant at Ipswich Hospital since 2004. He studied medicine at UMDS (Guy’s Hospital Campus) qualifying in 1992. He completed his Orthopaedic training in Cambridge and East Anglia and subsequently undertook two Fellowships; the first in Brisbane, Australia and the second a six month Shoulder Fellowship in Cape Town, South Africa under Dr Joe De Beer.

He is an Upper Limb surgeon with specific interest in the shoulder including arthroscopic shoulder reconstruction such as tendon repairs and instability surgery as well as open surgery such as shoulder replacements.

Mr Roberts has maintained a strong interest in clinical research throughout his career taking part in many National multi-centre clinical studies. He is a visiting Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at University Campus Suffolk and is on the Editorial board for the Journal of Arthroscopy.

Mr Servant's professional responsibilities include being Recruitment Director for core surgical training for the East of England Deanery, a member of the East of England School of Surgery Board, departmental Educational Supervisor for the Higher Surgical Trainees in Trauma & Orthopaedics, coorganiser of the Cambridge Cruciate Course and the Cambridge Knee Physiotherapy Course, on the Editorial Board of the Arthroscopy journal, and reviewer for the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery (British edition).

His published work includes two books and papers on knee arthroplasty, ACL reconstruction, PCL injury, patellofemoral realignment and hamstring injury.
