Profile:
Dr Ahmad (MRCP UK,SCE UK,DGM UK) completed his specialty training in geriatric medicine and general internal medicine on the North East and North Central London Deanery mainly (Lister and Barnet Hospital & UCLH& St Pancras Hospital). He has an interest in medical education and works as a consultant on Sproughton Ward, the Frailty Assesment Base, and the Emergency Department as a 'front-door' geriatrician enhancing integrated care and in the community (Felixstowe Hospital & Aldeburgh Hospital) He also does home visits & care home visits. He has a special interest in Future Hospital, Hospital at Home, and Discharge to Assess. He works with a multidisciplinary team of therapists and specialist nurses to support elderly people live independently in community.

Dr Alam graduated from The Barts and the London QMUL in 2004. He completed his speciality training  in the East of England and Essex. He has a particular interest in the management of TIA, hyper-acute strokes and the complex investigations often required after a stroke.

Profile:
Dr Shazia Awais (MBBS, MRCP (UK), FRCP (London)) did specialty training in the East of England deanery obtaining CCT in 2010. She has clinical responsibility for complex short-stay inpatients and provides support for nurse-led rehab ward at Ipswich Hospital; in addition to surgical liaison and ad hoc input for orthogegeriatrics. She has fortnightly medical outpatient clinic and a weekly whole day clinic in the Frailty Assessment Base.
She also provides weekly clinical input at Bluebird Lodge Community Hospital and is clinical lead for delirium beds at Barking Hall Nursing Home.
Her other interests include the training of junior doctors and she is also a MRCP PACES examiner.

Dr Blows graduated from Leicester Medical School in 2006. He completed his specialty training in Geriatric Medicine on the North Central London Deanery taking a sabbatical at Bankstown Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He has an interest in medical education and works as a consultant on the Constable Suite, Frailty Assesment Base and in the community.

Profile:
Dr Brache has been a consultant at Ipswich since 2005. She is the clinical lead for Older People’s services. Her specialist interest is Falls and orthogeriatrics and she also runs the Tilt Table service. She is based on the Fragility Fracture Ward (Saxmundham) and works closely with orthopaedic and rheumatology colleagues to provide care for older people admitted with hip fractures.

Profile:
Dr Chowdhury joined the stroke team at Ipswich Hospital in October 2012, working out of Shotley Ward where hyperacute and acute stroke services are provided. The RAPIDS clinic allows consultants to see TIA referrals seven days a week.

Ipswich Hospital is looking to consolidate its position in the region to drive up the quality of the service provided for Suffolk residents providing a complete stroke pathway in keeping with the National Stroke Strategy and Stroke Improvement National Audit Programme (SINAP).

Profile:
Dr Elena Jamieson, MBBS, MSc, MRCP is a specialist in movement disorders and Parkinson's disease, provides comprehensive geriatric assessment of older people at the hospital and in the community. She works with GPs, community based nurses and therapists in the Ipswich area and provides patient's home visits when required. Her research interests are vascular and lewy body dementia. She is the adult safeguarding lead at the Ipswich Hospital, specialising in medico-legal aspects of patient's care.

Profile:
Dr Lim joined Ipswich Hospital in 2016, having previously worked as a consultant in East Kent and in Croydon.
She is involved in community geriatrics at Bluebird Lodge Community Hospital and the Crisis Action Team, and is providing care home in-reach into some care homes, working alongside the CCG.

Profile:
Dr Lockington joined Ipswich Hospital in 1995 and was clinical lead for geriatric medicine from 1998 to 2009 seeing the department through a period of considerable change including the development the Hospital’s 'Complex Care' model of specialist wards.

A Cambridge and Royal London Hospital graduate, he trained in Hull, Birmingham (QEH - neprology/endocrinology), Charing Cross Hospital (diabetes/endocrinology) where he completed his MD. Dr Lockington has worked in geriatric medicine since 1998 at Charing Cross and then as senior registrar at the Royal London Hospital developing his specialty interest in Parkinson's Disease and bringing insights from his previous career and research in diabetes medicine to support Parkinson's patient care.

Dr Lockington has published in the field of goal-setting and individual pathway planning in older people's care in hospital and his work in Parkinson's disease has contributed to the development of Haughley Ward as a specialist Parkinson's and neurocognitive (dementia) care ward within Ipswich Hospital.

His community geriatric work provides consultancy on movement disorders to all the East Suffolk Community (inpatient and domiciliary bases) and he provides a domiciliary service as requested. He is currently dementia lead for Ipswich Hospital.
