Dr Berry MBChB, MRCS, FRCA is a consultant anaesthetist covering all aspects of anaesthetic care. After completing basic surgical training Dr Berry trained as ana anaesthetist. This training included time with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Interests include major spinal surgery, urological, general surgery and all emergency/trauma surgery. Dr Berry continues to work as a prehospital doctor with the air ambulance and also volunteers as a member of the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service.

Dr Bostock BSc (Hons) MB BS FRCA PGDip trained at the Imperial School of Anaesthesia and took time out to work at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and complete a fellowship in obstetric anaesthesia at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital.

His clinical interests include anaesthesia for major spinal surgery, enhanced recovery following orthopaedic surgery and obstetric anaesthesia.

He completed a PGDip in Simulation and Technology in Clinical Practice from the Institute of Education (University of London), and undertook a fellowship in medical simulation at St Thomas' Hospital. He is now involved in training at the East Anglian Simulation Training centre (EASTc) and has an interest in how human factors influence healthcare.

Dr Boyce is a consultant in anaesthetics and is currently the departmental lead for obstetric anaesthesia. After training at Charing Cross and Westminster medical school, London he completed his anaesthetic training at Imperial college, London. He also specialises in anaesthesia for hand and spinal surgery.

Dr Broadway's undergraduate training was at St Thomas's hospital medical school and he did house jobs there and in Burton on Trent. He then spent 3 years with the British Antarctic Survey including a year at Halley Base Antarctica, and a research opportunity at the University of Surrey. Returning to London he trained as an anaesthetist at the Middlesex, University College, Whittington, Queen Charlotte's, Royal National Orthopaedic and St Thomas' hospitals.

He was appointed consultant anaesthetist to Ipswich Hospital in 1993. He is the chair of the East Anglian Obstetric Anaesthesia Group, the hospital medicines management committee and has an interest in the equipment provision within the department. He teaches on simulation and advanced life support courses and is an appraiser for colleagues in the hospital.

Dr Driver has been a consultant anaesthetist at Ipswich Hospital since April 1997, having undertaken periods of training in Northampton, Nottingham, Cambridge, Papworth and Ipswich. Dr Driver has a particular interest in major case anaesthesia and a sub-speciality interest in anaesthesia for major vascular surgery. Dr Driver is the lead vascular anaesthetist on the Vascular Unit.

Dr Findley completed her Anaesthetics training in Sheffield and the South Yorkshire region and has been a consultant in Ipswich since 2013.

Dr Lloyd is part of a team of six dedicated intensive care physicians at Ipswich Hospital. Together they provide 24/7 year-round ICU care to a diverse range of critically ill patients. The ICU is a state-of-the-art facility encompassing the entire first floor of the Garrett Anderson Centre. The current bed base is 14 with a mixture of level 3 & 2 patients. We can ventilate up to seven patients at any time and have four haemofiltration machines. The unit is paperless and has been using electronic presribing and a CIS since 2008. We have been submitting outcome data to ICNARC since 1994 and have consistently excellent outcome data. Last year we had over 900 admissions – 56% medical, 27% elective surgical and 17% emergency surgery.

The unit has an active research programme coordinated by two research nurses; and supports an expanding Critical Care Outreach Team. The unit is also recognised for the training of junior doctors by the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.
