Children's Dietetic Services

Paediatric dietitians are registered dietitians who specialise in the nutritional care of infants, children and adolescents in both the hospital and community settings.

Paediatric dietitians aim to promote growth and development in children for those with normal dietary requirements as well as those with special dietary needs.

We specialise in a wide range of areas including  food allergies, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, faltering growth, coeliac disease, metabolic disorders and oncology and are also involved in the community setting in supporting children requiring dietary treatment and home tube feeding.

We provide a service to:

  • inpatients and day patients at Ipswich Hospital including Bergholt Ward, Framlingham Neonatal Unit, Paediatric Assessment Unit and the Paediatric Investigation Unit;
  • the East Suffolk Child Development Centre;
  • outpatient clinics – at Ipswich Hospital, Allington Clinic, Chatterbox Children's Centre and Felixstowe General Hospital; and
  • special schools in Ipswich.
