Haematology

Clinics are held in the Woolverstone Wing for haematology patients and treatments are carried out in the day unit.

The Ipswich Hospital, in partnership with Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, is undertaking major elements of 'peripheral blood stem cell' (PBSC) transplantation on a shared care basis. This form of treatment is applied in the context of clinical trials with data being submitted to the European Bone Marrow Transplant Registry. Diseases eligible for PBSC transplant include myeloma and lymphoma.

It is hoped that 'total body irradiation' (TBI) treatments will be offered in the near future.
