Diversity Champions
The establishment of diversity champions at Ipswich Hospital has further enhanced the flow of communication on diversity-related topics, and has helped to develop a culture that truly values equality and diversity.
The role of the diversity champion is to:
- support Ipswich Hospital and colleagues to make positive improvements;
- actively influence the way in which the hospital operates, monitors, plans and develops its services and staff to reflect the value of equality and diversity;
- promote awareness of equality and diversity issues within our services, the Trust as a whole and the wider community;
- act as a two-way communications channel between the Trust, colleagues, people who use our services and those who care for them;
- develop knowledge of equality and diversity issues and educate others on the value of these; and
- provide information and advice on equality and diversity issues and/or signpost people to alternative sources of information and advice within the Trust.
