The Satellite Breast Screening Unit is a purpose-built unit at the back of Ipswich Hospital where women are invited to attend for routine breast screening under the National Screening Programme. Appointments are available at the Satellite Screening Unit Monday to Friday, 9am – 4.30pm and on some Saturdays.

All women aged 50-70 and registered with a GP in east Suffolk will be sent an invitation every three years to attend a screening clinic either at Ipswich Hospital or one of seven mobile sites: Felixstowe, Leiston, Framlingham, Woodbridge, Stowmarket, Eye or Hadleigh. Women over the age of 70 can phone and make their own appointment to attend for screening every three years.
