Overview: Neurology is the branch of medicine that deals with disorders of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. Neurological symptoms such as headache and tingling in the limbs can be concerning but are in fact very common and are not necessarily an indication of serious disease.
What to expect at your appointment: Neurology appointments are held in the Outpatients Department, accessible via Entrance 6. A typical outpatient appointment in Neurology involves going through the story of your symptoms carefully and then usually a physical examination but because the range of neurological problems is so wide there is no fixed order of events. You can expect that a new patient appointment with Neurology will take 20-30 minutes and a follow-up appointment 10-15 minutes.
